General Questions 

What are your business hours?

Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5pm EST. For business hours during holidays and/or any special events, please check our website under the News page or call us at (502)633-5427.


Can you recommend any seamstresses and/or upholsterers?

Yes, we can.  We do have a list of seamstresses and upholsterers whose work we have seen and inspected.  However, they are not in any way affiliated with us.  Thus, we are not responsible for any sewing or upholstering errors they may make.  Call us at (502) 633-5427 to request some of their names.


How do I get to your store?

1. FROM LOUISVILLE, KY: Take I64 East. Take exit 32B toward Shelbyville. At the 4th traffic light, turn right onto US 60. Continue approximately 1 mile until the road becomes Main Street, which is one-way. Proceed into town and turn left on 7th Street (or at the intersection of 7th and Main). Proceed one block to the light and you will see our store accross the intersection to your left. There is a parking in the rear of the building.
2. FROM LEXINGTON, KY: Take I64 West. Take exit 35 toward Shelbyville. Make a right after taking the exit. Drive about .75 mile until you come to a traffic light (you will see "McDonald" on the left side). Turn left at the traffic light. Keep driving about another mile until you find 7th street. Turn right on 7th street. We are the first building on your left once you turn on 7th street. Parking lot is behing our building.
3. FROM CINCINNATI, OH: Take HWY 71 South. Take exit 34 toward New Castle/Bedford. Turn left on the ramp. Keep driving. You will pass Campbellsburg. The road then will become a "T"(flashing light). Make a right on that flashing light (which is 55 South). Continue driving until you come to Shelbyville. You will see Kroger and Taco Bell on the right side. Turn right on the traffic light after Taco Bell. Keep driving about one mile until you come to 7th street. Turn right on 7th street and our store is the first building on your left. Parking behind building.
4. FROM INDIANAPOLIS, IN: (We will give you the direction starting from HWY 65 South). Take HWY 65 South toward Louisville. Take HWY 64 East toward Lexington. Take exit 32B toward Shelbyville, following the . ramp around until you come out on Taylorsville Rd. Stay on that road until you come to the 4th traffic light (US 60). Turn right on US 60. Continue driving about 1 mile until the road becomes a one-way street. Turn left on 7th street. You will quickly see our store in the left corner of the intersection. Parking is behind the building.
5. FROM OTHER CITIES NOT LISTED HERE: you can go to www.mapquest.com and click on the "Direction" option located on the right top corner of te website. You will then need to type in your address and our address, which is 701 Washington Street, Shelbyville, KY 40065.

Fabric Questions
 

Do you give customers fabric samples free of charge?

No, we do not give out fabric samples free of charge.  Customers can buy fabric samples.  However customers are allowed to check out our fabric(s) on approval for 3 (three) days.  There is no fee for borrowing our fabric(s).  We just require a Photo I.D., telephone numbers, and a credit card number.  Customers must also agree with our check out policies.  Contact us for more information.


Can you help me estimate how much fabric I will need?
Yes, we can help you estimate how much fabric you need. However, please keep in mind that you need to confirm the measurements that we give you with your seamstress and/or upholsterer. This is because every seamstress and/or upholsterer does things differently.

Do You have a computerized system that can identify each of your fabrics?

No, we do not. However, if you are looking for a fabric that you previously purchased from us, you
may give us a detailed description of the fabric, and we may or may not be able to identify the fabric that
you are looking for.


If I give you the name of the fabric and the company name, will you be able to tell me whether or not you have the certain fabric?

Since we do not have a computerized system, we may or may not be able to identify the fabric you are requesting.
This really depends on several factors. You can contact us and tell us about it. We will then see if we recognize your fabric. One of the things that will help us locate a certain fabric is for you to either send a little swatch (sample) of the fabric to us (upon request, we will return the fabric swatch back to you). Or, you could send a picture of the fabric to our e-mail address at makingendsmeetky@yahoo.com. The best thing to do is for you to visit our store and see the fabric selections we have. Even if we do not have the exact same fabric you're looking for, we will be glad to help you find something comparable.


If I want to make a special fabric order, how long will it usually take for the fabric to arrive?

It depends on the company from where we order the fabric. We will check on the fabric availability and the approximate arrival time before we place your order


What is the minimum yardage that I can buy?

1/8 yard is the minimum cut.  You can buy ANY amount of yardage on the increment of 1/8 yard.


Website Issues

I used the online form on your website to send you a message. Why haven't I received a response from you?

The most common problem is an incorrect or incomplete e-mail address, and thus, we are unable to reply to your message. For example, instead of typing the correct e-mail angie.smith@aol.com, customers only typed angie.smith and left out the @aol.com part. The second most common reason is that your message could be lost in the cyber space, and there is no way we can fix this problem. If you think you have typed your e-mail correctly but still do not get any response from us, we suggest that you resend your message. Also, make sure you check your "Junk Mails" or "Spam" folder because as a company, we may be identified as "Spammer" by some e-mail providers.

 
I signed up for your e-mail list, but I haven't heard from you about your special sale and/or events. What's the problem?

Any of the reasons we have mentioned for the previous questions might also apply to this question. So, the e-mail address you submitted could be incorrect or incomplete. If you signed up in our store, you could have written your e-mail address unclearly. Another reason is that your inbox could be full. This means you need to delete some messages in your inbox before you could receive more e-mail. The other reason could be that you just signed up to our e-mail list in the past month and thus, we haven't yet had any special event to notify you of.
